Okanagan, BC- Show your charitable side with the purchase of a new pilsner hitting the shelves today!

Local craft brewery, Copper Brewing Co. has teamed up with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association- Central Okanagan (CHBA-CO) to give back and raise funds for safe, affordable housing for families in the Okanagan.

“Copper Brewing is excited to be teaming up with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and Habitat for Humanity Okanagan to help provide sustainable and affordable housing for our community,” said Sean White, Owner of Copper Brewing Co. “Every purchase of the Builder’s Pilsner we have crafted will have proceeds donated to invest into our locals right here in the Okanagan.”

The Builder’s Pilsner, a uniquely local beer with a cause, is now available in liquor stores throughout the Okanagan for a limited time.  $1 dollar from every four-pack and every sleeve sold will go towards Habitat for Humanity Okanagan’s (HFHO) current build project of 12 homes in Lake Country.

To amplify the impact of this initiative, CHBA-CO has committed to selling the Builder’s Pilsner at all upcoming CHBA events.

“Housing affordability is something that is getting further and further out of reach for Kelowna residents,” says Dan Winer, Executive Officer of CHBA-CO. “As the voice of the residential construction industry, we wanted to find a way for local businesses to support each other while shining a light on this important issue.”

The Lake Country build is currently $1 million short of the funding needed to complete the first phase of the project.  The Builder’s Pilsner and the generosity of community-minded organizations are the key to helping close the gap.

“We love to see local helping local,” said Andrea Manifold, CEO Habitat for Humanity Okanagan.  “We are grateful for the collaborative effort of these two organizations to help us get one step closer to completing the project and ensuring local families have safe, decent, affordable housing.”
