The first quarter of 2021 seems to have flown by!
The affiliate office staff have made great headway in a number of key areas: transition to new accounting software that will provide us with lots more features including the ability to track our build costs in better detail, new donor and volunteer management software has been installed, we selected a new strata management company to reduce payments for our families, we did our first employee survey for some time and our annual volunteer survey was also distributed. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that participated in the surveys, your feedback is very important to us.
We have had a great start to the year. The Q1 sales have surpassed our expectations. All stores exceeded the Q1 targets, in what is usually a quieter trading period for us. Well done to all the managers, staff and volunteers that work hard in our stores.
Framing has started on the build site, we have experienced a delay due to BC Hydro and this has put us behind on the start of the other 2 buildings, we are still expecting to complete by the end of the year. We are now accepting applications for teams that want to help out on site in the summer and also any individuals that are interested in helping out now. Speaking from my experience of being on the job site, working on these homes is a very gratifying.
Our next bottle drive is taking place on the 10th April, we have had a lot of interest from the media and hoping to get the same fantastic response as last time.
