Earth Day

With Earth Day coming up on April 22, there are multiple ways that you too can show your love for the Earth.

Plant a tree…or two

We love trees and there’s nothing better than planting them in your own backyard!

Use cloth masks

Using cloth masks instead of disposable ones may just be one of the best choices you can make during this pandemic!

Reuse

Consider upcycling furniture instead of immediately turning to the option of completely throwing it out. This may just land you a beautiful, customized item!

Flowers

When we plant flowers, not only are we at an advantage since we have the chance to look at beautiful flowers all day. But flowers can also bring bees and other pollinating creatures to your yard. Pollination has many advantages for the environment and so this is a step in the right direction.

Shop locally and organically

Support those local farmer’s markets by buying some of their fresh veggies and fruits! This is a great way to help the environment as well as yourselves by making some good food choices.

Volunteer

Volunteering for an environmental organization is a great opportunity to have fun and help the environment.

Educate yourself and others

When we educate ourselves, we learn more about the environment as well as the numerous challenges surrounding the Earth. This way, we can be more mindful of the Earth and work towards making it a better place. You can learn more by watching documentaries or by doing some research of your own! We can also spread this knowledge to others!

Eat Smarter

From eating organic to avoiding fast food, there are many ways you can eat smarter.

Be more energy efficient

Consider buying products that run on natural gas instead of electricity.

Save water

Although this may sound like an easy one, it’s definitely very important. Ensure that you don’t overwater your plants or that you don’t accidentally leave the water running while brushing your teeth.

Donate

Donate gently used items to those in need instead of throwing them out! There are numerous charities and organizations that take such items.

Buy second-hand items

This way not only are you reducing your consumption but it may also be an opportunity to find hidden treasures within your local community.

Other Ideas Include…

Save paper

Protect wildlife

Do not litter

The bottom line is that there are many steps that you can take to help the Earth and no matter how small these steps are, they are always a step in the right direction!
