The past year has been period of building capacity for Habitat for Humanity Okanagan as we reach for a greater future social impact in the Okanagan.
The development permit was approved early this year for our Lake Country Build. The project is currently engaged in various stages of implementation as we look to begin initial site servicing to support the 12 new homes in the near future. Numerous funding activities have both started, and planned to assist with project funding.
HFHO has expanded retail operations yet again with a new Vernon ReStore opening summer 2019. Our ReStore program has proven to be a very effective revenue generator for Habitat and have helped us both build new homes and purchase land for future builds. To supply our growing retail component, HFHO is also preparing to open a Central Distribution Centre to process the donation flow effectively to the ReStores.
