Habitat for Humanity Okanagan is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, housing organization. Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership model empowers families to invest in homeownership. Through volunteer labour, efficient management and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner (partner) families.
Habitat homes are sold to partner families with no down payment required and are financed with affordable, no-interest mortgages. Mortgage payments go into a revolving fund, which is used by affiliates to build more homes for more families in need. HFH Okanagan serves Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, and Peachland in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. We also sponsor a Chapter in the nearby city of Vernon and Penticton.
Habitat for Humanity Okanagan helps families buy simple, decent and affordable homes through a no-down payment, no-interest mortgage with affordable monthly payments.
By supporting Habitat for Humanity Okanagan you are not just providing for the bricks and mortar, you are giving local families the hand up they need to build a better life.
We rely heavily on volunteers to service our cause with 11,000 volunteer hours being donated in 2013 alone!
ReStores help keep material out of the landfill, and the proceeds from the sales help support Habitat’s building program.
