I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible team, volunteers, supporters, and community partners. I am truly honoured to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Habitat for Humanity Okanagan.
Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication, compassion, and commitment that drive our organization forward every day. Whether you volunteer, donate, shop at our ReStores, or partner with us through sponsorships, community initiatives, or raffles, your contributions make our mission possible. Thank you for being such an important part of our Habitat family!
Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting our Volunteer Appreciation Boat Cruise. What a wonderful day it was! With beautiful weather, great conversations, and plenty of fun on the lake, it was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the individuals who generously give their time and talents to our organization. The connections made and stories shared throughout the day served as a powerful reminder of our incredible community.
This month, there are many exciting opportunities to get involved. We are currently seeking volunteers for several upcoming events, including the Bibbidi Bop, the Vernon Sunshine Festival, the Rotary Summer Kick-Off, and the Peach City Beach Cruise in Penticton. These events not only help raise awareness and support for our work but also provide wonderful opportunities to connect with our communities and one another. I would also like to remind everyone about our upcoming Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 24, at 5:00 p.m. at our West Kelowna ReStore. There is still time to become a society member. I encourage you to join us as we reflect on our accomplishments, celebrate our successes, and look ahead to an exciting future.
