CEO message – July

Hello Everyone!

Some of you may have seen the news that we have listed 2 Peachland homes for sale.  I wanted to take this opportunity to re-iterate the circumstances behind this tough decision.  The homes became empty at the end of 2019 when the previous families moved out of our program, they have been offered to other families already in our program and we have made efforts to recruit new families, unfortunately with no qualified families we continue to carry the running cost for these homes.  We also have the impact of Covid19 putting pressure on our revenues and to avoid incurring  further debt this decision was taken.

On a more positive note, we are bringing more ReStore staff back and extending our hours from the 6th July, daily donations will also start again, full details can be found on our website.  The high volume of ReStore donations we have received has been very welcome and also challenging for our skeleton staff, however the response from our volunteers to our calls for help has been amazing, and the impact felt by us all.

Summer looks like its finally arrived and we are heading into the next 6 months with a very busy time ahead of us, as we move forward with our 2020 initiatives.  It’s going to be filled with some great new initiatives and opportunities to help us to provide more homes in the Okanagan.  Thank you for being part of our journey.
