CEO MESSAGE – November 2025

Hello November!

Wow, these monthly updates seem to come round quickly, even when we skip one!

This month our focus is the extremely popular Jingle Bell Build event. This year we are privileged to have the Traine Foundation as the presenting sponsor. Our relationship with Traine goes back many years and their support this year has been amazing. We have still have a few sponsorships available as well as limited spots for teams who want to compete for the 2025 Gingy Cup.

Last Saturday we unveiled the Christmas inventory across all four Restores. The amount and quality of product we receive over the year is phenomenal. Thanks to volunteer power all the items are pre-sorted, packaged and merchandised to make holiday shopping easy in the stores. It’s a huge undertaking, a big thank you to all involved. Checkout the wide variety of products soon as it will disappear very quickly.

The jackpots for the Restore 50/50 and the one we do online are both growing fast! We have sold out the last four ReStore ticket draws early and expect to do the same for the final draw of the year. At just $3 per for a chance to win up to $7500 it’s a steal, tickets are available at all stores. Our other lottery jackpot has reached almost $80,000, last year it closed out at $183,050 and we are hoping to beat that in 2025. Tickets for that lottery are available online HERE.

I’m writing this update while waiting for my flight to Ottawa where I will join my colleagues from around the country to recommend the federal government make affordable homeownership a clear part of BCH’s mandate and include some resources to keeping homeownership within reach. We know from our experience how great the demand for home ownership continues to be for the many families struggling to achieve it.

On a related topic we recently transferred title to four more families who have been living at the homes built in Lake Country. This is the last step in the process for the families and couldn’t have been achieved without the community supporting our mission.

Have a great November!
