This spring is bringing in changes to our organization. This month we are saying goodbye to long serving members of the office staff. Danielle Smith director of resource development will be leaving us on the 20th March after almost five incredible years of service. During her time with us Danielle made an extraordinary contribution to our organization. From securing some amazing donations, many grants and sponsorships to spearheading the 50/50 raffle, she has played an integral role in strengthening our programs and supporting our community. Beyond the accomplishments, Danielle’s dedication, professionalism and passion for Habitat will leave a lasting impact on our mission.
Barb Donaldson is retiring, for the 2nd time, from the family services department. Barb has spent over 10 years with the team, both as an employee and volunteer. Barb is the longest serving member of the team and her dedication to ensuring the success of our partner families is a credit to her due diligence and dedication. We say farewell to Barb on the 31st March.
Danielle and Barb will leave us with many great memories of our time together and will be missed. Their contributions have made a meaningful difference in both our team’s performance and the communities we serve.
Courtney Clark has been promoted to community engagement, volunteer and events lead. Since joining our team, Courtney has consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to our mission. With Danielle’s departure, Courtney will take on expanded responsibilities, primarily leadership of the online 50/50, planning of community engagement and fundraising events.
We were delighted to finalists for the West Greater Board of Trade Environmentally Sustainable Business award. While we weren’t the winners, we are grateful to be recognized for the role our ReStores play, reducing waste, keeping items out of landfills and being sold again at great prices to new owners, helping families obtain affordable homes.
If you didn’t already get a $3 raffle ticket from the ReStores you may be out of luck, this raffle has already sold out again. The lucky winner will take home $9,000. Our other 50/50 jackpot has been steadily climbing since being launched in early Feb, the total now stands at $20,350.00 Our upcoming attendance at the Penticton, Kelowna, Salmon Arm and Kamloops homes will add even more funds to the total!
Have a great March.
