Thankfully, I’m recovering from the health blip that affected me in May and able to look forward to the next few weeks of fun ahead. A big thank you to my direct team for providing amazing support and going way beyond the scope of their job descriptions!
On the 13th June we are excited to be hosting a couple of the Habitat Canada team, Pedro Barata President and CEO and Karen Coviello Senior Vice President, People & Impact. During their visit we will be visiting the Kelowna and West Kelowna stores plus the recently completed Lake County project. It’s Pedro’s first visit here and I’m sure he will be impressed to see our Okanagan operations in action.
It’s the final few weeks for both 50/50 draws. Sales of the ReStore tickets have been steady and last draw we sold out early, please visit your local ReStore soon if you want to enter. We have a hectic community engagement schedule for that final push of the online raffle, the biggest being the Peach City Cruise in Penticton, which is a great event to be part of and we look forward to it every year. We are still seeking volunteers to help at this fun filled event.
The Habitat Okanagan Annual General Meeting is taking place on the 25th June. This meeting is a time of reflection for the staff, board and society members of the programs and operational challenges and achievements across all areas of the organization in 2024. It’s only when you collate all this material that you realise the extent of our reach and how much the community supports us. Thank you!
We are actively recruiting for volunteers to help in the West Kelowna ReStore, specifically anyone that likes tinkering with electronics or would like to make a splash in the plumbing department. If this sounds like you, and you would like to join our team please visit habitatforhumanityokanagan.ca/volunteering for more information or to sign up!
