The biggest news I must share this month is that the total pot for the first online 50/50 raffle of the year was a massive $162,100. A big thank you to everyone that purchased tickets and helped make it our largest ever jackpot. We enjoy being out and about in the community with the raffle and appreciate the support of all our partners that invited us to their events and the many volunteers that have helped the staff. Forty eight per cent of the ticket sales were sold in person, that’s a lot of tickets! One of my most enjoyable things to do is calling the winner who was absolutely delighted by the huge amount we shared.
The ReStore 50/50 is our other raffle that is drawn at the end of each quarter, this reached a healthy jackpot of $10,344. A big thank you to the ReStore staff and our customers for their participation in this draw.
At the build site we are progressing with the final stages, the painters are busy rolling the topcoat, carpets will be installed in mid July and its all systems go with the other finishing touches to get the homes ready for the end of August. We will be sharing the key ceremony date at the end of July and hope to see you there to celebrate when the last four families move into their homes.
The next phase for Lake Country is the landscaping, and its quite the project! We are currently contacting suppliers for materials and expect to commence the work at the end of July. We need help to install irrigation, build walls, erect fencing and put many plants into position. Whether you have green fingers or just enjoy meeting new people, please contact Courtney to register your interest if you’d like to be involved in the fun!
The annual volunteer survey is a great way to check in with the 100’s of volunteers that help us in many ways. The survey provides invaluable feedback and helps us to develop our program. Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete it and submitted comments. Stay tuned for the consolidated report and our responses.
Our ReStores receive great donations and you never know what treasures you will find in them. Each purchase helps you, the environment and our mission, if you haven’t been in one for a while I encourage you to pop into your local store and check out the huge selection of inventory.
Have a great July!
