This way, you won\u2019t be tempted to buy junk food. Also, don\u2019t go grocery shopping on an empty stomach!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outer ring technique <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Try the outer ring technique when you are grocery shopping. This approach involves shopping in the outer perimeter of stores and avoiding the aisles since that\u2019s usually where the unhealthy food options are located. The outer ring of a store is where the healthy foods are located!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking at home <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Try to cook at home every day to avoid going out. Avoid processed foods and cook with lots of vegetables and fruits. Choose brightly coloured vegetables like broccoli and carrots to add to your meals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Water<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make water your choice of drink and avoid sugary drinks and caffeinated products. Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times \u2013 while working, driving, etc. \u2013 so that you\u2019re not tempted to drink another beverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Smaller meals <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eat smaller meals and healthy snacks more often. When you eat less with more time spread out between each meal, you\u2019re more likely to choose unhealthy food options.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bake or roast <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Baking or roasting your vegetables, fish, and meat is much healthier than frying or grilling them. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Popcorn <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re craving a healthy snack that isn\u2019t fruit, opt for popcorn! Make your own popcorn at home instead of buying premade popcorn with a lot of fat, sugar, and salt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy oils <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead of cooking with vegetable oils, use healthier alternatives like olive or coconut oils.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep healthy foods readily available <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes when you\u2019re really hungry for a small snack, it might be easy to reach for a bag of chips or some chocolate. But, if you keep a bowl of fruits on your dining table or a jar of nuts on your counter, you will be more likely to eat these snacks instead.<\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of things you can do to keep a healthy diet, but simply taking the small steps listed above can make a huge difference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Try the outer ring technique when you are grocery shopping.
