Planning for my favourite event of the year, the Habitat Okanagan Jingle Bell Build is in full swing.\u00a0 We are returning to the Laural Packing House on the 21st<\/sup> November to host this popular event.\u00a0 There will be lots of fun and creativity as teams compete for the coveted prize of the Gingy Cup.\u00a0 Last year the creativity of the teams was off the scales, we had some incredible designs!\u00a0 It\u2019s a ton of fun and great idea for office parties, if you are interested in participating, please contact Danielle Smith Director of Resource Development<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ReStore 50\/50 jackpot was a biggy!\u00a0 This lottery, with tickets only available to purchase from at our four ReStores reached $13,782. The lucky winner was delighted with their share. A big thank you to everyone that purchased tickets.\u00a0 Tickets go back on sale on the 15th of October and the last draw for 2024 will be on December 20th.<\/p>\n

The online 50\/50 has already hit $65,000!\u00a0 We have several more community engagement events where we will be selling the tickets in person, these are always a great boost to the sales and we are anticipating another large jackpot by the 17th<\/sup> December draw date. What a great way to end the year!<\/p>\n

Christmas is going to arrive in the stores very soon. We have lots of trees and beautiful decorations in great condition and at a fraction of the price you will pay for new in the big box stores. A big thank you to the volunteers that clean, test and package all the items we have donated.<\/p>\n

Landscaping at Powley Court is now complete! The landscapers have done a great job at transforming the weeds and rubble into a lovely space for the families to enjoy.\u00a0 A big thank you to Bylands Nursery, LaFarge, Rona, ProSouce Supply, Lake Country Compost Distributors, Kelowna Now Rotary and our landscaper Thomas Contracting, who have all made contributions to reduce the cost to complete this final stage.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t believe we are already into the last quarter of 2024!
